SALLY COOPER, LEVEL 9 GYMNAST TAKES TOP HONORS AT THE LEVEL 9 EASTERN NATIONALS, KETTERING, OHIO
Sally Cooper, 13 year old gymnast trained by Lori Aamodt at the Gymnastic Academy of Rockford, placed third on bars and 5th on floor at the East/West National championships in Dayton, Ohio this past weekend. Cooper’s 7th place finish at regional placed her on the Regional team for the event. She along with five other girls from Ohio, Illinois and Michigan had a team all-around score of 148.850 and were the National Team Champions in the Junior B Division. The competition included athletes from 25 states and four regions from around the country. Along with taking first place with the team, Sally also scored 8.95 on vault, 9.45 on bars, 9.0 on beam, 9.35 on floor and placed 9th in the all around with a 36.75.
Sally trains 29 hours a week at the Gymnastic Academy of Rockford and her ultimate goal is to be in the 2012 Olympics.

Sally Cooper, Level 9 Gymnastic athlete has qualified to compete in Nationals to be held May 8-11 in Kettering, Ohio. Sally achieved this by scoring an 8.6 at the Women's Region 5 Gymnastics Regional Competition held in Lansing, MI last weekend. She was in competition with approximately 40 other girls in her age group from all over the Midwest region. We're all so proud of you Sally!!!
